Latin American MDS Foundation Symposium

We are proud to announce that on October 31st, 2018, the Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) Foundation will organize its first meeting in Brazil during the Annual Congress of the Brazilian Association of Hematology, Hemotherapy and Cell Therapy: Latin American MDS Foundation Symposium.

The definition of the genetic basis of myelodysplastic syndrome has opened avenues of research and there have been remarkable advances in the last few years. Well-known experts in the field will cover different topics that span from inherited predisposition to developing myeloid malignancies to age-related clonal hematopoiesis and its clinical implications. Case-based discussions will help participants understand the clinical-decision making processes regarding diagnosis, prognostication and treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes and related disorders.

Every year, the Brazilian Congress of Hematology, Hemotherapy and Cell Therapy – HEMO grows both in relevance and in the number of attendees, bringing together physicians, residents and students of the two specialties, besides biomedical scientists, nurses and pharmaceuticals.
The clinical and scientific update is broad and its quality is remarkable, since prominent scientists and researchers in our field are invited to share and discuss what is best and newest in treatment and drugs, providing our patients with the best quality of life from diagnosis to possible cure.
HEMO 2018 will feature the international event in partnership with MDS Foundation, the I Regional MDS Meeting. In addition, there will be the II Clinical Research Course in partnership with ASH-CRTI, Laboratory Hematology Refresher, 1St Joint Refresher Symposium on Hemostasis and Thrombosis and 1st Symposium on Biomedical Sciences..
One of the outstanding activities that reinforces ABHH’s integration with the international scientific community, the Magna Conference, will be attended by Tony Green, Head of the Department of Hematology and Professor at the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge, UK, which will address myeloproliferative disorders. Furthermore, the Congress will also have the exhibitors’ area, an interesting area with state-of-the-art equipment that will be presented in a functional way, in addition to the newly approved drugs under clinical trials.
Finally, HEMO 2018 will provide knowledge, clinical update with activities, lectures and conferences that improve all the Hematology and Hemotherapy fields. Therefore, it is a unique opportunity for interaction and exchange of experiences. We hope that your participation will be enriching in the scientific and professional scopes, and it will also be a personal experience shared with the patient assisted on a daily basis. See you in São Paulo!
